While planning a trip for my teenage daughter, who was on her first solo flight, I had the pleasure of corresponding with the United Airlines San Jose Office.  I was a little anxious about the unaccompanied minor procedure, as any parent would be.  To ensure everything was in order, I went to the office beforehand.  The personnel was really soothing, calm, and clear.  For my peace of mind, they provided me with printed information, led me through the entire procedure, and described everything she would go through from check-in to landing.  The United employees in San Jose fulfilled all of their commitments on the day of departure.  Throughout the boarding procedure, they checked in with my kid and made her feel protected.
