I understand how it can look that way from your point of view.

 

Allow me to hypothesize:

 

Possibly, you find several guys in your social circle desirable. You don’t want to marry them right away, but you wouldn’t say no if they offered to take you to dinner, or on a weekend trip to their favorite lake in the mountains. Maybe you have a powerful crush on a certain guy, and daydream in organic chemistry class about him, envisioning what your children would look like at varying ages.

 

All of the guys you like in the above paragraph hook up. Some of them do it a lot. It’s really hard to watch – hurts a lot, sometimes.

 

Here’s what I’m saying:

 

The guys in the aforementioned paragraph are not most guys.

 

Most guys are the dudes you think that are creepy, or fat, or too skinny, too old, too young, or too short, or too awkward, or too stupid, or have too much nose hair, or are bald, etc ad nauseum.

 

Please think about what I said. I am not disagreeing with you – I am asking you to consider your desires and perceptions in an objective (objective as possible, anyway) light. I fully believe you’ll be shocked at how many guys are almost invisible to you.
