Elder children of construction workers often must take care of their younger siblings while their parents are at work, and this results in them being out of school.

 

As one of the best NGO for kids in India, Sakshi centres provide holistic day-care focusing on the cognitive and behavioural development of the children, nutrition, health and hygiene. Children are enrolled in three groups according to their age. The ones aged between 0 to 3 years are taken in Sakshi’s crèche, 3 – 6 year old children are enrolled at Sakshi’s Balwari centre, and the children from 6-14 years of age are enrolled in the Non-Formal Education group operating from the same unit.
