TSA oversees the security screening at Spirit Airlines TPA Terminal and adheres to established protocols. During screening, passengers must take off their shoes, belts, and liquids that weigh more than 3.4 ounces. For accelerated security, travelers can use TSA PreCheck, which lets them leave their shoes on and refrain from taking out their laptops or drinks. To provide sufficient time for check-in, security, and boarding, Spirit Airlines advises arriving three hours before international flights and two hours before domestic flights.
