- Also, we had a couple of hours of crazy hunting yesterday in our local MH group. The arena is tiny and as a result, you get the crap kicked out of you with just simple armour.
- They are pretty sweet looking sets in my opinion, even if the skills are a bit ho hum Mosgharl armor is actually pretty damn good. I feel your pain.
- Hammer - I've taken down Dire Miralis today!
- One thing that Monster Hunter has lacked is a pure support type character. On the flip side, the games have never had a shortage of Palicos, CPU controlled cat sidekicks who either join you in battle, or can be discovered on the field with important items. In other words, do not pick more than one Palico! Essentially a pure support class, the Palico has a series of fundamental differences that separate it from your typical hunter. On top of that, it has more starting health than any other human character without eating food before going on a mission. Coming equipped with its own special abilities, it can even heal and buff the party, summon its own items, and trigger special attacks that are unique to it. So at this point, you might wondering what the problem is. I had the same thought while I was playing, feeling like this character was a glorified Easy Mode. First of all, the Palico does very little damage with horrible range, having to get right up on a monster in order to hurt it. But as we mentioned above, that can be easier said than done. After learning these details in the midst of a battle, I started to appreciate how well a team could gain an advantage with a strong performing kitty. What abilities will it learn? What weapons can it wield? Is there a way to make it stronger, and will its support capabilities suffer?
- We head to our north MH Lan Party group and we proceed to meet up with a bunch of G-ranking hunters. It ended up limping after several focus blasts, and I ended up capturing it. You can't grow them in the farm. Update: Just spent some time with the local MH north up here. Hatching them all has never been easier. The only time he poses any threat at all is on land, 4 legs, other than that he is just a HP sponge like Ceadeus. I will then start working my way up the various Low-Rank elements through Rarity 6 until we reach High-Rank armor at Rarity 7.
