The new Ford Explorer is still equipped with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine and a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, and is equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive as standard. The four-wheel drive system is an optional configuration. The Active, ST-Line and Platinum models are equipped with a 2.3T engine with an output power of 224 kW/304 horsepower and a torque of 420 Nm; while the ST version is equipped with a more powerful 3.0T V6 engine with an output power of up to 299 kW/406 horsepower and a torque of 563 Nm
