When you’re flying with children, convenience and efficiency matter. We had both during our recent trip through Orlando International Airport, and the Orlando Airport Smoking Area played a small but meaningful part in our positive experience. After arriving at Terminal C with my spouse and our two young kids, we had time to kill before boarding. While the kids enjoyed snacks and cartoons in the seating area, I appreciated the chance to step outside to the smoking zone. The signage was clear, and the area was located just outside near the Ground Transportation level—easy to reach and not overcrowded. It was well-kept, with benches and ashtrays, and provided a much-needed breath of fresh air (ironically) before a long flight. I was happy to see how the airport managed to provide a smoking space that didn’t interfere with non-smokers or children, as it’s located away from the main entrance. Even when we landed back at MCO a week later, Orlando Airport was one of the first places I stopped while my partner grabbed our bags. It was clean and accessible, which I truly appreciated after a long international flight. The airport staff were also helpful in pointing us to it, which made the whole process easier. If you’re a smoker traveling with family, this amenity helps reduce stress and allows you to take care of your needs without interrupting your family’s travel routine.
